Barangay Tinongdan seeks users fee from Binga dam operation

 Barangay Tinongdan in Itogon is requesting a share from the users fee derived from the operation of the Binga Hydro-Electric Power Plant to fund their development project.

The barangay council passed Resolution No. 49-A series 2010 requesting users fund from the SN Aboitiz Power – Benguet acquired BHEPP to finance the barangay's springs development project.

The provincial board forwarded the Tinongdan measure through Resolution No. 11-40 endorsing the request to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Cordillera Administrative Region.

In his letter to the Provincial Board dated March 17, 2011, DENR Executive Director Clarence Baguilat forwarded the provincial board resolution to the designated Protected Area Superintendent of the Lower Agno Watershed and Forest Reservation for their appropriate action.

The hydro-electric plant is located at Binga in Itogon utilizing the water resource of the Agno River. ** (PIA CAR/Benguet)
