La Trinidad Mayor Gregorio Abalos Jr. bared plan the municipality will purchase a “super plasma decomposition technology” to address garbage problems in the capital town.

“It is called the super plasma decomposition technology and it is revolutionary in that it requires zero fuel, no power or energy, and requires negligible maintenance fees and very low labor cost,” he said.

In a report from the Baguio Midland Courier, Abalos added since the new technology does not emit gases, it is the purest and most environmentally-friendly garbage processing equipment ever invented.

Abalos also said the technology will solve the excessive biodegradable wastes accumulated in La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post.

Unlike the ERS machine used in the city of Baguio which turns waste materials into fertilizers, the “super black hole magnetic decomposer” turns wastes into ceramic ash.

The technology, which costs P58 million, is currently under fabrication in Japan and has not yet been introduced in the Philippines. La Trinidad will be the first to use such technology in the country.

La Trinidad opened a sanitary landfill in Alno in January but can only last for seven months due to the excessive garbage collected around town. The town accumulates an estimate of 48 tons daily. 53 percent biodegradable, 26 percent recyclables, and 21 percent residual wastes.
